In 2022, Erlanger Hospital converted from a government-owned health system to a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization to better compete in the changing healthcare market. As part of this conversion, and to ensure that Erlanger Health maintained their historical commitment to the communities they serve, a Mission Agreement was developed and agreed upon by Erlanger Health, Inc., the Chattanooga-Hamilton County Hospital Authority, and Hamilton County officials. Under this Mission Agreement, Erlanger Health must meet the terms of various covenants and commitments.
Who We Are
In 2023, the Erlanger Health Oversight Panel (EHOP) was created to serve as an oversight and reporting entity to monitor the system’s adherence to the covenants and commitments.
EHOP will monitor and review documentation related to Erlanger Health’s operations and annually report its findings regarding the system’s compliance with each of the covenants and commitments. In addition, Panel members may maintain other professions outside the Panel.
Erlanger Health Oversight Panel (EHOP) was created to ensure Erlanger Health meets its responsibilities as a 501(c)(3) organization.
