While the scope and nature of such services has evolved with patient and community needs over those decades, this underlying commitment has never wavered.
Erlanger Health Oversight Panel, Inc. (EHOP) was created in 2023 to fulfill the role of an independent oversight monitor, ensuring that Erlanger Health upholds the historic mission and commitments pursuant to a Mission Agreement dated August 22, 2022, and effective as of July 1, 2023. This Agreement follows the transfer of ownership and operation of Erlanger Hospital from the Chattanooga-Hamilton County Hospital Authority to Erlanger Health, Inc. Specifically, this Mission Agreement charges EHOP with the responsibility to investigate any suspected or alleged breaches of the covenants and commitments set forth in the Agreement, and to report its findings to Hamilton County, Tennessee and Erlanger Health, Inc. The Panel is comprised of three individuals agreed upon by Erlanger Health, the Hamilton County Commission, the Hamilton County Legislative Delegation, and the Attorney General of Tennessee. Selections are based on substantive expertise and experience and a demonstrated commitment to maintaining high-quality healthcare in the communities served by Erlanger Health.
